Also, people who manage with multiple daily injections (MDIs) have to take two types of insulin, a short-acting bolus insulin (Humalog, Novolog or Apidra) for their meals as well as a long-acting basal insulin (Levemir or Lantus). It’s a bolus issue.

Sunday I lowered my Lantus by a couple units to deal with the residual effect the ride had, plus Ryan and I were going out for an easy spin together. I had some brown rice with no bolus. The only thing I can think of is my liver stores were devoid of glycogen.
