[Coma, Desserts] {Kids First, Diabetes Second} Type 1 Vs. Type 2
Our nephew had been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes two years earlier, but since we weren’t involved in his daily care, we didn’t have much firsthand knowledge other than seeing him check his blood sugar or get an injection at family get togethers.

[Coma, Desserts] Meri and Bright: A Christmas Journal
I woke at 8:00 wondering if they all lay in comas. The entire day consisted of food, a trip to the theater, more food, more food, a nap, desserts, eggnog, food, and A Christmas Carol. But first.blood sugars. 24,2012 11:00pm I've gotten through Christmas Eve, and I've only cried 4 times. Of course.the day isn't over yet. Another hour waits patiently in front of me. Ryan is in the front of my mind today. I miss him. Ok, cried 5 times now. Ryan would think that's hysterical."

[Coma, Desserts] Redefining "Normal"
Just last week at a small diabetes family night, three of the five mothers of diabetic children there said that they had been told not to worry too much about their childrens blood sugars, that children are resilient to complications. There is no way to keep your sugars normal all the time, and you do your best and you try." I miss being able to exercise and not worry about what it will do to my blood sugar.

[Coma, Desserts] CGM users: I have a few questions for you - Diabetic_Iz_Me
Pretty Please with Sugar on top:) Questions: 1. Well, I like that it shows me arrows up or down if my blood sugar is dropping or spiking rapidly. Yes, my sugar levels dont swing as wildly as they did before 9. with sugars ranging from 50 to 300 on a daily basis. What food/dessert makes you happy? MORE >>
