JANUARY 10, 2011 [Dawn Phenomenon, Hyperglycemia] A familiar high and not so familiar low | The Diabetic
I have tabulated my continuing fight with the fasting numbers, some of the true and tried methods I have used in the past to try and combat this Dawn phenomenon ,but honestly I still have to say that nothing has worked as well as Insulin has for me. If I don't eat, I have almost no need for insulin except in the hours before I wake, sometimes called the Dawn phenomenon, but technically, even that's not entirely accurate. I find it troubling that regulators at the FDA could be so mirculously blinded to genuine short-term risks of intensive insulin therapy (namely, hypoglycemia), or at least they seem only too willing to overlook those risks over worry about longer-term dangers.
