Low serum vitamin D levels are more closely associated with diabetes than obesity is, claim Spanish researchers, who go on to suggest that vitamin D deficiency may be linked to an increased risk for type 2 diabetes.     1) Benfotiamine (my doctor pronounces it as: ben-fo-tee-a-mean) is a lipid-soluble form of vitamin B-1. Thiamine is a water-soluble vitamin and therefore not as easily used by the body.
