[Glucagon, Insulin] A 3-Time Artificial Pancreas Test Subject Speaks
In fact, the only reason she even went on insulin pump therapy at all was because her boss requested it. Also, it should be noted that glucagon has never been used long-term on humans, and there’s always the possibility that this could cause health complications. And an artificial pancreas won’t make diabetes go away; your blood sugar will still go high, but when insulin brings it down, it will be “a soft landing”, she said.

[Glucagon, Insulin] Why I Call the 670G an Artificial Pancreas
Type 1 tech activists rightly pointed out that the pump didn’t do anything to help manage blood sugar levels except to shut off insulin delivery. They argued that an artificial pancreas should do something, actively and automatically, to adjust insulin delivery in reaction to blood sugar levels. This pump system is able to monitor glucose readings and make a prediction that blood sugar levels will reach a set low point; the pump system then shuts off insulin delivery in advance.
