This means that not only is glycemic control no better with analogs, but that there is no difference in side-effects like severe hypoglycemia, a decidedly different perspective than the manufacturers have led everyone to believe about insulin analogs.

    Can they treat mild hypoglycemia with a snack or glucose tabs/juice box? - I had the opportunity to speak with the EC from our Endo's office today. After 30 minutes on the phone with her, we've come to the conclusion that we need to have another meeting to make some changes to her current 504 Plan. When this plan was set in place back in October, Kacey was still seeking care at the nurse's office and she was on injections.

    She even knows the girls Endos, had knowledge of Type 1 diabetes and hypoglycemia, jumped right on and refilled Kayleigh's inhalers and then both girls had to get shots. HOLY MOLEY!     My biggest concern for the race was keeping my blood sugar up during the run; I had encountered rapid onset of hypoglycemia at the beginning of training runs after long rides (bricks), and during long runs after a heavy day of training. Warning--long, verbose story to follow. Read at your own risk of wasting time! Addendum (7/5/2007) I was irresponsible in using terminology with no explanation, especially after pointing some people here who would not be expected to know the diabetes lingo!
